Arctic Monkeys

Okay, so I don't know if I've ever posted about these guys before but they, (along with The Beatles and The Killers) are my favorite band ever. Okay, I'll give you some background then. So basically they're from England, (so yes ladies, they have accents) they jumped onto the music scene around 2006, they're an indie-rock band they have 3 full length albums so far, and a new album, Suck It And See is due to come out June 6th. Anyway, I saw them live at Kool Haus Saturday night... oh my god... amazing! It completely lived up to my expectations, (which were extremely high) They didn't play D Is For Dangerous, but they played Florescent Adolescent on the encore, so I was Happy. I was also pleasantly surprised when they did Crying Lightning, a song I had never payed to much attention to on the album, was quite incredible in person. I can't seem to get it out of my head. I also had a perfect view of the groups front man, Alex Turner, who I am in love with... yeah, I plan to marry him. His voice is just so orgasmic! I'm still in shock! I ended up going with my friend Alex, who had never heard of them before, but I think he liked them. And me and Alex, (my friend) ended up like, holding each other all night and making out... it was great... and then we were kissing while waiting for our ride and this random guy walking down the street starts telling us about love, it was my life. It was so funny. I will never forget that. Ever. So what's going to happen to Alex and I? Probably friends with benefits, but who knows. Anyways, in conclusion, Saturday night was unbelievable. It must have been one of the best nights of my life, if you ever get the chance to see the Arctic Monkeys... do it! You won't regret it!

Birthday Pt.1

Okay, so yesterday was my birthday... holy shit, I'm 16! Anywho, I finally got to go to Urban Outfitters and it was amazing. I got this retro looking skirt for $10, (it was originally $60) this over sized floral dress for $20 (originally $80) and I bought a pair of surprisingly really cute overalls, I'll post a pick once I wear them. I also got a bunch of super cute clothes from H&M, I got the tickets to see one of my all time favorite bands, the Arctic Monkeys, in case you don't know them they're British indie-rock stars, their music is really unique and very clever. And I happen to love their front man, Alex Turner. His voice is like orgasmic, and he's pretty hot too. Oh and I am freaking out over this, my dad, who I have recently started spending time with, got me a drum skin signed by all the members of The Killers! Also one of my all time favorite bands, and if you do not know them, you must be living under a rock. I also happen to be in love with their lead singer as well, Brandon Flowers... he signed it... that means he touched it... oh my god... lol. Okay, well in all seriousness I'm really nervous to be 16, I guess I should start studying for my G1 now, that's scary. I'm actually going to have a party this year, so I'll do that sometime in may then. I'll blog about it once it happens.

An Original But Lame Poem

This is one of my poems. Their not great, but oh well, enjoy!

As I drift across the universe, sleepy thoughts fill my foggy mind. Lying on my cloud, missing you, waiting for you to be lying here beside me. Loneliness fills my heart as tears fill my eyes and roll down my face, knowing you will be back with me soon gives me a reason to get out of this dreamy haze. My eyes are heavy, my mind is racing, thinking about past memories, wondering about all the memories we will someday create together. Sleep has taken over, I can no longer fight it, my head is filled with your image... my dreams echo with the sound of your voice, I see you, I feel your gentile touch on my skin, an illusion at most, but soon to be reality.

D Is for Dangerous

Music: D Is for Dangerous by the Arctic Monkeys
Ok, this one was a little weird. I decided to go a little twilight on us all and do a vampire photoshoot, it was actually really fun, (notice the red eyes? It just happened on it's own, cool eh?) But while I was doing it my mom called my and asked if I wanted to go to the grocerie store, I told her i couldn't and she asked, "Why not?" I said "Because I'm dressed like a vampire." She asked if I was going goth and I told her no, it was pretty funny.

Song Covers

This is a Katy Perry cover of "Firework", done by my best friend Amy and I. The quality is pretty bad, but I like our harmonies. So I hope you enjoy! It's also on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/thefashionpig?feature=mhum
The second one here is a Bruno Mars cover of "The Way You Are" my brother randomly walks in (wearing his very fashionable skiing outfit) and pretty much wrecks the whole thing.
